Transforming Value-Based Programs for Nursing Facilities
As a renowned entrepreneur and innovator in healthcare, Dr. Rifkin has more than 30 years of experience as a physician and operator of nursing facilities. As the owner and operator of Mid-Atlantic Health Care, LLC (MAHC), Dr. Rifkin led the improvement of care delivery and clinical outcomes to residents of long-term care facilities throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania. Under his direction, MAHC’s 21 skilled nursing centers became the national leader in successfully developing risk-based care models.
His success in running long-term care facilities led Dr. Rifkin to establish several tech-enabled value-based care organizations including Real Time Medical Systems, Provider Partners Health Plan, Provider Partners Connect Care, and Five Star Physicians – all of which enable nursing facilities nationwide to improve clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.
Dr. Rifkin’s experience in running long-term care facilities and innovation in founding value-based organizations designed explicitly for nursing facilities has made him a valuable thought leader within the industry. Dr. Rifkin has delivered speaking engagements for industry associations including AHCA, AMDA, LeadingAge, and LifeSpan. Additionally, his expertise as a senior care advocate led him to provide key insights to national publications including Skilled Nursing News, McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, and NPR.
Dr. Rifkin is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County and George Washington University School of Medicine and was the recipient of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Mid-Atlantic Region).
